A. 車で、東京か千葉市から。By car from Tokyo or Chiba City area.

B. JR誉田駅から. From JR Sotobo Line Honda station, walking or driving.

A. 車で、東京か千葉市から。By car from Tokyo or Chiba City area.

1. Take Higashi Kanto Expressway toward Chiba City and Narita Airport.

2. About 5 minutes past Chiba Wangan Narashino (Near Makuhari Messe Convention

Center), take next exit for Keiyo Doro Expressway toward Chiba and Togane.

3. Continue about 15-20 minutes through Chiba City toward Ichihara City and Kisarazu on

the Keiyo Road to Soga Exit. (Do not take Togane Expressway to the left; Soga Exit is the next  exit after

Matsugaoka. Do not take Matsugaoka exit even if navi says to, and even though the sign says “Oyumino”).

4. After exiting at Soga exit and paying toll, follow signs for “Honda” (right fork after toll

booth). Turn left at signal light. Sign will say toward “Honda”. (The sign for Oyumino will

point straight ahead, but do not go straight ahead. Turn left towards Honda).

5. You will go 5.7 Km on this 4 lane road, and turn right at the first traffic light after your

two lanes turn to one lane. (You can only turn right at this traffic light.) More detail: This 4 lane

road will turn into a semi-expressway with 2 exit ramps and no traffic lights after you have gone 2.5 km. After

the 2d exit ramp at about 3.4 km, the next traffic light (4.9 km) will have a “Golf Partner” ゴルフ・パートナー

shop on the left, and the South Chiba Police station (千葉南警察)on the right. From that traffic light, go about

800 meters more to the 1st traffic light after your two lanes become one lane, (about 5.7 km total on this road

from the Keiyo toll road), and turn right. The traffic light is as you reach the top of a little hill. If you go all the

way to the “T” where the road ends, you went 100 meters and one traffic light too far.

6. Go about 300 meters to the first traffic light at the top of the hill, and turn left. The “Mami

Mart” マミマートsupermarket will be on your left at the top of the hill.

7. Go about 900 meters, almost 1 kilometer (going down and then up again). At about

900 meters from the Mami Mart corner you will see the wide entrance road into Honda

Chapel on your right, a sign “Oyumino Church, Honda Chapel” おゆみ野教会、誉田チャペル,

and a large white cross. Turn right into the access road.

8. Go up the access road about 80 meters to Honda Chapel and the Christian Education

building on the left, and the parking area on the right. 80mぐらいまっすぐに行って下さ

B. From Honda station, walking or driving. JR誉田駅から. Under1km.1km以内。

*Note: JR Honda Station is the 4th station from Chiba JR station on the Sotobo line,

about 17 minutes. If you take the Keiyo sen from Tokyo Station, it is the 2d station on the

Sotobo line from Soga station, 10 minutes.

After giving your ticket, go to the left and go out the south exit.

1. Go out of the station parking lot. Turn right on the road (Oami Kaido) in front of the station.

2. Go about 300 meters to the traffic light just past the Post Office. Turn left at traffic light.

3. Go about 200 meters to the end of that road and turn right.

4. Immediately turn left again at the first left, after having only gone about 5 meters.

5. Go to the end of that road, about 150 m and turn full right 90 degrees. (Do not angle off to

the left at 45 degrees on the one lane narrow road. Turn full right on the main road.)

6. Go about 250 meters to the Honda Chapel Oyumino Church wide entrance/ access road

on the left. There will be a sign saying Honda Chapel 誉田チャペルand a big white cross.

Turn left onto the access road.

7. Go up the access road about 80 meters to Honda Chapel and the Christian Education

building on the left, and the parking area on the right.

Who are we?

Oyumino Christ Church is a protestant church that belongs to the Presbyterian Church in Japan (PCJ). People from all walks of life are welcome to join us. Whether you have skeptical or negative views toward Christianity, or if you are someone with even the slightest interest in knowing more about what it is like to be in a church or knowing more about what Christianity really is about, then please consider our invitation. If you desire to seek the truth and if you want to find true rest for your hearts, then please come.

We believe in the One True God who is revealed in the Bible. We gather regularly to read the bible, worshipfully sing hymns, and pray together.

This is a gathering of people, though sinners, who want to live according to God’s will as we trust in the liberating promises of the Gospel message. Come and join us and experience what it is like to have a life that overflows with joy and true, lasting hope that can only come through Jesus Christ.

We are affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), Mission to the World (MTW), Church Planting Institute (CPI), Christ Bible Institute (CBI), and The Gospel Coalition (TGC).

Daniel Iverson III, our senior pastor who planted the church in 1992 and MTW Country Director for Japan, wrote this description of our church on the TGC international directory:

“Oyumino Christ Church was started in 1992 by PCA missionaries with Mission to the World (MTW) in partnership with the Presbyterian Church in Japan (PCJ). OCC seeks by God’s grace to be a gospel-centered, Holy Spirit-led, multi-site, cell group church reaching Chiba City, Japan, and the world with the good news of God’s grace for sinners. Our mission is to make disciples who reproduce. Oyumino Church has five worships each Sunday in 3 locations in Midori Ku, including one bilingual worship (English and Japanese) at 11am. OCC has 4 pastors (three Japanese) leading, teaching, and equipping lay people for ministry. There are about 70 small groups with many opportunities for fellowship, study, service, and outreach. We seek “Classic Faith but Modern/Classic Style mix”, as we seek to reach our changing city and world with the unchanging gospel of grace. We are involved with other partners in planting healthy, reproducing churches here in Japan and are seeking to help plant churches in two other Asian countries.“
